Number 08: Super Smash Bros. (Melee & Brawl)

Super Smash Bros. is one of those video games I love to play only when others are playing with me. Something about playing Super Smash Brothers by myself can be less satisfying. You get a group together and everyone starts freaking out over you getting the hammer. Just the satisfaction of beating on your friends is so awesome.

I played the original one back when it came out on the Nintendo 64. I remember being friends with a kid I didn’t even like just so I could get my hands on this game. I would play Pikachu and spam that thunder bolt attack on my friends. I remember at one point my friend rage quitting because of constant electric bolts. The game has an entertaining fighting mechanic that a lot of other games who try to mimic it has failed. With every installment to the game the fighting would just continue to improve and the roster grew.

Melee is considered the fan favorite for it’s well adjusted fighting tech and depth that is involved in this game. I wasn’t that great at the game, but it didn’t stop me from playing Peach and Mewtwo. The opening to this game was so awesome back at the time. Gamecube was still new and I almost wanted to get rid of my Playstation 2 just to get a Gamecube in it’s place (thank goodness I didn’t though).

Super Smash Bros. is definitely one of those games that can bring people together for some good old fashion gaming. It’s an easy game for people to get into and it isn’t overly complicated like a lot of fighting games can be.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the only Smash game I ever owned myself. I loved the story mode in this game, and it really kept me engaged whenever there wasn’t anyone else to play the game with. I liked the addition of Super Smash, and the roster in this game was truly awesome. Sonic and Snake in the game made it even more awesome for me.

I love the Smash series and I’ve said this before about Pokemon X & Y, but if I had money just to kill I would buy a 3ds to play the newest Super Smash Bros.

I like Sonic the Hedgehog. He was one of the first video game characters I was ever introduced to, but his trail has gone weak as of late. Sonic Boom is the biggest offense in my opinion. The game is overly glitch and the characters look retarded.
